This client wanted a custom bed frame, complete with innovative storage solutions on either side and behind the cushioned headboard. Outfitted with a detachable side table and device charging.
These two were excited to make big changes to their living space. We redid the space from top to bottom, with some custom elements to make it shine! The primary use is a TV/Theatre space so combining highly dimmable pot lights on a dark grey super flat ceiling really achieved the desired vibe while still looking like a bright and inviting space. Painting that wainscoting and redoing all the trim modernized the space and keeps it all looking clean.
The clients brought up that they had drafts, pests and leaks. The use of a good quality thermal camera allowed me to quickly locate an area where siding contractors left a big hole in the rim joist from an old exhaust and cladded over. All sorts of unwanted things had been coming in but we took care of that issue pretty efficiently.
Cat Approved!
I finished up this gorgeous washer/dryer build in June 2025. My client wanted the machines on the first floor, so our most direct and logical route was to use a corner of a spare bedroom. We both think it turned out perfect for the space!
This was definitely the biggest counter I've ever made, at a whopping 32" deep, 1-3/4" thick, and 9' long including the waterfall! The Festool Domino made this not only possible, but also seamless and accurate. I finished with Osmo PolyX hardwax oil, leaving the maple top with a smooth, rich, easy to maintain natural finish.
All the maple fillers, shelf and trim were also made from scratch using raw Canadian hard Maple.
We chose a pre-finished plywood wall partly for its warm, beautiful look, but also because it was an easy way to avoid patching and painting the wall which needed heavy work.
2x3 walls also just don't give enough space for plumbing but you could never tell the deco wall is actually a bulkhead to bump it all out! The floating shelf was also a disguise to hide the joint in the 2 plywood sheets.
Next, we may look into a custom fit washing machine base pan to catch water in case of leaks.
